Tech Tip: PDF Image Extract

The other week on the AW Blog I wrote about a web program whcih converted PDF document to a MS Word file. (Clikc HERE to read). As appraisers we are always looking for ways to make our life easier and shorten the report writing process. Sometimes we have a PDF file on our system with an image we would like to use. I have found a small application that will extractonly the images from a PDF file.

PDF Extract is freeware program that makes extracting images from PDF files basic and simple. You can capture the images from the PDF and save them into many different formats, including JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, and lot more. Antoher benefit about this program is that you don’t need to have Adobe Reader installed on your computer to extract the images. Once you start up the program, you can click on the Open File or Open Directory buttons to add the PDF files you want to extract images from.

Antoher feature of the program is that you can batch add PDF files and extract all the pictures from many PDF files all at once! So for example, I clicked on Open Directory and told it to find all PDF files with images in them from the My Documents directory:
