I just received an email alert from Maine Antiques Digest stating the following:Ellis Show Canceled The Ellis Antiques Show, a mainstay in Boston since 1960, will be canceled for 2009.
Ellis Antiques Show is one of the better shows on the antique show circuit. I find it disturbing such as long running and distinguished show has been canceled, even if it is only for one year. I will try to gather more information, but have found nothing posted in the news as of yet. I wonder if it has anything to do with sponsors. Looking at the website (which is has not been updated since the 2008 show), and AIG was a sponsor as well as Banks and wealth management groups as well as several auction houses.
The show is typically scheduled in October.
