A partial database of 22,000 items in the Louvre collection is now available on line and in English. The database, called Atlas will include a description, a high resolution image and the location within the museum. According to the NY Times, the English language version of Atlas represents nearly 80% of the full French version of Atlas, which catalogs 26,000 items within the full collection of 35,000 artifacts.
