Technology Tip: Artfact App for the iPhone

Artfact has just released a new application allowing the searching of its database through an iPhone. The application for the iPhone is free to Arfact subscribers and allows for the searching of upcoming auction lots, over 500,000 sold auction lots, bidding and sharing on Facebook or sending item lots of interest by email.

If you have an iPhone and are a subscriber to Artfact click HERE to download the free app software.  I can see this as a very useful tool for appraisers, especially for quick reference items when previewing a job or performing walk thru assignments. It would also work well for dealers who see something at an auction or private sale with little time for further research.

I dont have an iPhone, but I have been considering getting a Smartphone. With this app it makes sense to invest in the iPhone as I would be able to access portions of the Artfact sold lot archive database through the phone and Artfact app. I have been waiting for something like this to come along that would really make a Smartphone useful to me as an appraiser over and above the novelty and email aspects.  This Artfact app just might be it.
