Mei Moses Tracking Indexes Shows Signs of Strength

Mei Moses has released Year to Date (through end of May) tracking results for three indexes.  All three of the indexes have shown, strong and positive growth during 2010.  The sectors included are Impressions/Modern, Old Master.19th Century and Post War/Contemporary.  Post War/Contemporary index was up 30%.  If you have been following the posts on the Appraiser Workshops Blog, you will already know that since late 2009 many fine art sectors have been showing signs of renewed traction, after the earlier declines.

The growth in these three tracking indexes continues the positive trend from the beginning of the year, and shows more sustainable growth as all three indexes have moved up since the end of the first quarter.

2010 End of May Tracking Indexes Year To Date Results:
  • Impressionist and Modern Index: Up 17.7%
  • Old Master and 19th Century Index: Up 18%
  • Post War and Contemporary Index: Up 30%

2010 First Quarter Tracking Result Percentage Change from Year End 2009
  • Values of Mei Moses® All Art Index: Down 4.80%
  • American Before 1950 Index: Down 32.54%
  • Impressionist and Modern Index: Up 4.47%
  • Old Master and 19th Century Index: Up 16.81%
  • Post War and Contemporary Index: Up 19.03
