The ASA International Personal Property Conference release states

PERSONAL PROPERTY INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
SCOTLAND 2011

Get your kilts, tam o'shanters and bagpipes ready! This year's International Personal Property Conference will be held in Scotland and one that you won't want to miss.

Our ASA colleague, Mr. Hope Vere Anderson, is also the esteemed Chief of Clan Anderson, a position that affords him great access to the historic treasures and traditions Scotland has to offer. Mr. Anderson has planned a rich and varied program focusing on antiques, decorative arts and fine art, not to mention generous portions of outstanding cuisine and local beverages.

Veteran PP members still talk about a trip to Scotland that Mr. Anderson presented fifteen years ago, and this conference promises to be even more spectacular with completely new venues, access to private homes, castles and collections rarely seen by the public.

Destination:        Edinburgh
Dates:            October 9-12, 2011

Exceptional accommodations: four nights at the landmark Balmoral Hotel with full Scottish Breakfast!

Conference educational highlights include:

    The Society of Antiquities of Scotland, the oldest antiquarian society in Scotland, founded in 1780.

    An estate featuring Thomas Chippendale furniture original to the home and with the original receipts

    The art collection at Drumlanrig Castle, home of the Duke & Duchess of Buccleuch and Queensberry featuring Rembrandt’s The Old Woman Reading.

    The renown 15th-century medieval Rosslyn Chapel, famous for it's decorative arts (and most recently, it's role in the Dan Brown novel The DaVinci Code)

    A fabulous Country House recently conveyed to the National Trust of Scotland

    The Royal Britannia Yacht and the Royal Racing Yacht Bloodhound

    Lectures by noted specialists

    Dinner in one of Scotland's great castles

You will have the opportunity to visit private collections and sights that are typically closed to the public. This is an educational offering not to be missed! And one, of course that will provide you with ample continuing education credentials.

Over the next several months you will receive a finalized daily schedule as the conference dates get closer-for now the basics include-Five star Balmoral Hotel with Scottish breakfast and featuring a Welcome Reception on Sunday night; Transportation, dinner at a castle outside of Edinburgh; farewell dinner at the Balmoral on the last night, lectures and entries to all of the venues each day.
