Luxury Goods Remain Strong

The Wall Street Journal has a very good video on luxury goods sales in general and the holiday season returns at Swill luxury conglomerate Richmont.  Richmont, owner of the following luxury brands, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Piaget, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger-LeCoultre, IWC, Panerai and Montblanc saw its holiday sales rise by 24% over the 2010 holiday season.

The wealthy continue to spend on high end goods without much concern over economic issues.  This dovetails very nicely with art as an asset class and the recent reports of strength from the art market in 2011.
