New Book on American Art Deco Furniture

Fellow appraiser, International Society of Appraisers member, and noted authority on Art Deco furniture Ric Emmett has recently published a new book on American Art Deco Furniture.

The new book is limited to 1000 signed and numbered copies with no second printing.

The limited edition book will sell for $250.00, but readers of the AW blog are being offered a pre publication price of only $150.00 (plus $11.25 for shipping).  The book is scheduled to be mailed in either late November or early December.  The new book contains over 570 pages with descriptions and color images of of previously unpublished pieces.

Given modern furniture, including Art Deco has become such a popular segment for collectors, this new and important book should be in most appraiser's reference library.

The website for the book is http://modernism.com/book, or follow the Paypal link to order at the special pre publication price of $150.00.

You can also mail payment and shipping information to Art Deco Pros., Inc., 7125 SW 47th Street, # 303 Miami, FL 33155.

Author and appraiser Ric Emmett reports on the book
After almost three years of research and writing, American Art Deco Furniture is about to become a reality!

The book; Five hundred and seventy pages of color pictures (none previously published), descriptions and period research will become the bible on the subject. It will have chapters on Paul Frankl, Donald Deskey, Gilbert Rohde, Kem Weber and nineteen other American designers of the Art Deco period.  The book will also include chapters on manufacturers, a useful bibliography and a chapter showing tags, marks and labels.

American Art Deco Furniture will be published in an edition of only 1000.  Each book will be signed and numbered.  There will be NO second edition or any other printing.

These are the chapters in the book.  Each chapter has a bit about the designer or company being featured.   After that, there are photos (none previously published) of various items and then documentation (if available) on that item, either period literature or patent drawings.

Of particular interest to appraisers is the chapter on tags, marks and labels ... these are listed by designer.  I've attached a small sample so you and your readers can get an idea.
