Last weekend I posted on the success of the ISA conference (March 19-23 in Philadelphia) with record-breaking sponsorship and what now appears to be record setting attendance. Registration numbers continue to grow with about 5 weeks remaining. I just received some great news on the ASA conference.
Susan Golashovsky ASA recently emailed with a press release on the American Society of Appraisers conference in NYC March 25-27. The ASA conference has now officially hit capacity and is sold out with only a waiting list and few additional day passes available. Sponsorship for the ASA conference has also been extremely strong.
What I find so interesting about this is the two personal property conferences (in major East Coast Cities, New York and Philadelphia, and being held within days of each other) is how seriously the professional personal property appraisal community takes education and networking. Think about this for a moment, two conferences for personal property, within close proximity and within days of each other, and both are monumental successes. Usually with this scenario, one or both suffer, but not in this instances.
I am not sure I have seen this dynamic before where there are two such strong conferences competing for attendance and members and with each setting new records and drawing appraisers. I think it shows that our profession is strong, and continues to grow and advance. Members of the various organizations are seeking, and will attend strong programs which they find useful to their individual appraisal practices. The strong attendance not only shows the support of members to each organization, but the amazing amount and interest and commitment by sponsors is also an amazing sign of the strength of our profession and support we receive from allied professionals.
I applaud both ASA and ISA for their efforts.

The American Society of Appraisers 2015 Personal Property Conference to be held March 25-27, 2015 in New York, NY has officially recorded a sell out.
The Conference’s schedule of scholarly presentations from highly regarded and noted experts in their fields; evening receptions with networking opportunities; an optional field trip to the Princeton University Art Museum, Sculpture Collection and Libraries; and New York City location have proven to be a popular draw.
Because of continued demand, organizers have opened up a limited number of 1-day conference registration spots available by calling (800) 272-8258.
The conference has also generated considerable interest from corporations and has attracted a diverse line up of sponsors representing a full range of fine and decorative arts focused ancillary services.
