The International Society of Appraisers has announced a sell out for their annual conference Assets 2015 in Philadelphia March 20-23. The conference, from what I understand now has over 240 registered attendees and is placing new registration requests on a wait list. There are some day passes still available which can be purchased at the door. Record attendance, Philadelphia culture, great lodging at the Warwick and restaurants by Rittenhouse Square, premium presentations, Philly cheese steaks, what could be better?
There are many great presentations as well as social activities for networking. On Thursday evening the Foundation for Appraisal Education is hosting Reading Between the Wines, an annual event to raise awareness and interest in the Journal of Advanced Appraisal Studies.
I am excited about this conference, and I am also honored to a speaker as well. I am scheduled to present on complex appraisal assignments along with fellow appraiser Daphne Rosenzweig, ISA CAPP on Saturday afternoon.
My portion of the presentation is on appraising the Breezer #1 prototype mountain bike which was donated to the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian. Part of my practice is devoted to unique, complex and unusual appraisal assignments, and the Breezer appraisal was indeed that. It was certainly an interesting and unique assignment, and perhaps my favorite assignment.
