ISA Conference

Having a great time at the ISA Conference in Pasadena, CA.  On Friday went to the Getty, which is an amazing museum. I probably enjoyed the sheer size and campus design almost as much as the collection. Friday evening we had a very nice outdoor conference reception.

Saturday was the start of the program, and I have enjoyed the presentation. All general sessions today the room has been full and the speakers answering many questions.  Hotel is great and staff is attentive.

Gretchen Wolf of the IRS and Erika Claus, a past officer of the Canadian Cultural Property Export Review Board gave an interesting joint presentation on the differences between the organizations and how they review tax use appraisals. Jordan Arnold of K2 Intelligence was very interesting speaking on new technologies used in authenticating art, such as blockchain, computer analysis, algorithm and synthetic DNA.  Appraisers need to know the new technologies are and how they are being applied to the fine and decorative arts market.

On Sunday morning, Cindy Rosenberg and I present on Readily Apparent Identity disclaimers.
