Transparency in the Market

The Artnewspaper has just released part one of a three part video series on transparency in the market. The first installment is called Transparency in the Market, Can we Have More of It.

The video is of a panel discussion on transparency and discusses on such hot button topics as third party guarantees. The questions are straight forward and some of the responders are on the defensive about their policies.  It is hosed by Anna Somers Cocks, founder and group editorial director of the Artnewspaper. The first installment runs for about 24 minutes.  I look forward to the release of the next two videos.  From a social media perspective, this is an excellent use of video and online promotion of the series.

Click HERE to watch the first installment. It has some very interesting and timely discussions of the art market.

Transparency is a topic of much debate and controversy within the art world. It is seen as healthy but is this always the case? Would more transparency ruin the art market as some believe?See the full debate here, hosted by Anna Somers Cocks Founder and Group Editorial Director of The Art Newspaper.
