Tech Tip: Bulk Image Resizer

Bulk Image Resizer is a very good and useful tool for the appraiser.

Microsoft Windows XP has a good little ad on program called image resize (posted on the AW Blog back in July with some other tech tips, click HERE to read) which quickly and easily resized images or groups of images. It is one of the tech tips we promote at our Good, Better, Best Appraiser Workshop to save time. The only limitation is a restriction of only three set sizes of images.

Bulk Image Resizer is a free program the removes the limitation of the MS Windows program and allows a bit more flexibility.

According to the Marius website, Bulk Image Resizer is allows you to quickly and easily convert multiple images at the same time. The resizing engine supports the most popular formats and features high quality distortion-less image resizing.
  • Converts multiple files from multiple locations at once
  • Ability to specify new width or new height
  • Ability to force a specific width/height combination
  • Keep aspect ratio or skew image
  • High quality distortion-less resizing algorithm
  • Support for popular formats including JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF
  • Multi threaded to take advantage of multi core cpu's
  • Resize unlimited number of files of unlimited quality
  • Ability to rename files with a prefix or suffix
  • Ability to overwrite original image or specify a new location
As appraiser we are always manipulating images for insertion into reports. It makes like much easier if before embedding the images into the appraisal document that images are already formatted. Bulk Resizer can reformat multiple files for the report. Then when inserting the image is already at the desired size. Reformatting within the work processor only reduces the appearance of the image, the actual file size it still large, making the document file larger, and potentially harder to email with the large amount of data connected to the images.

Bulk Image Resizer is worth taking a look at. Click HERE to visit the MaiusSoft website for FREE download.
